Harmonized System (HS) Codes are standardized numerical classifications used globally to identify and categorize traded products. These codes ensure uniformity in customs declarations, tariffs, and trade documentation.
Key Features of HS Codes
- 8-digit standard (internationally recognized), for example 9900100 is a valid HS Code.
- No symbols, such as commas, periods, or spaces.
- 9900,100 and 99 001.0 are not valid HS Codes
- Unique to each product type.
Step-by-step Guide
- Navigate to your inventory items in Palladium Accounting.
- Click "Edit" button.
- Click "Optional Fields" and input the HS code in the Field 1 input field.
- Click "Ok" button to save your changes.
- Continue repeating this to all your inventory items.
