HS code Implantation in ZOHO Books

What are HS-Codes ?

HS codes, also known as Harmonized System Codes, are standardized numerical codes used to classify products in international trade. They are unique codes that identify and describe a product or service. 

STEP 1 : Navigate to Item Field Customization

• Log into Zoho Books.
• Go to Settings (top right corner of the screen) select Items under the Items section.

• Click the Field Customization tab
• In the Field Customization tab, click + New Custom Field. 

STEP 2 : CREATING THE HS CODE FIELD CUSTOMIZATION IN INVOICE AND CREDIT NOTE

Enter:

• Label Name (HS-Codes ).

• Data Type (e.g. number).

• Check Is Mandatory - YES
• Check Show when creating transactions - YES 
• Include in modules- select invoice and credit note 

Click Save.

• The field will now appear as a column in the item table during transactions

STEP 3: ADDING / INSERTING THE HS CODE IN THE INVENTORY LIST  

Go to the Items module:

• From the left sidebar, click on Items → then select Items under that menu (you may see "Items" or "Inventory").

• Locate the item you want to edit: You can search for the item name, or code using the search bar.
  Click on the item name or the Edit (pencil icon) next to it.

• Enter the correct HS Code for the product.

• After entering the HS Code, scroll to the bottom of the page.

• Click Save to update the item record
