Overview of HS Codes

Harmonized System (HS) Codes are standardized numerical classifications used globally to identify and categorize traded products. These codes ensure uniformity in customs declarations, tariffs, and trade documentation.

Key Features of HS Codes:

  • 8-digit standard (internationally recognized) for example 9900100 is a valid HS Code.
  • No symbols (commas, periods, or spaces), (9900,100 and 99 001.0 are not valid Hs Codes)
  • Unique to each product type.
